ViTHAL leisure centre

The water in the adventure pool in Thal is always 25°. But that is not the only reason why the ViTHAL is considered the finest family pool of the Hochpustertal.

Vitalpinum

Vitality, relaxation, care! The show and adventure park (5,000 m²) of the Unterweger mountain pine oil distillery, right on the Drautal road (B 100) in Thal, makes the soothing effect of alpine herbs tangible with all the senses.

St. Korbinian pilgrimage church

Clearly visible from the Drautal road, the church of St. Korbinian sits on a hill in Thal - one of the most beautiful and precious late-Gothic churches in Tyrol, especially because of its winged altars.

Worth seeing

• Passion altar (approx. 1430)
• Magdalene altar from the circle of Friedrich Pacher (1498)
• net vault with 10 keystones painted in fresco (also attributed to Friedrich Pacher)
• Passion cycle in secco painting (1559 to 1580)

Pacher altar

Of particular art-historical interest is the Korbinian altar by Friedrich Pacher (1480). The side wings had mysteriously disappeared for 150 years, resurfaced in London in 2007, were restored by the Austrian Federal Monuments Office and returned to St. Korbinian in 2010.

Beautiful display boards outside the church and a richly illustrated church guide give remarkable insights into the history of the altar.

The church is only open during services (Sunday 10 am).
